Please help-96 Impreza
Hello, I'm a newbie here with a question I hope that someone can give me an answer to. I have a 96 Impreza with an automatic transmission. I am having trouble getting it out of park. Once I manage to get it out (by pressing the brake in and out and pushing the gear shifter button repeadly for about 15 minutes) everything runs great. It's just getting it out of park that I'm having trouble with

Car Info: 1993/2000/2001 GF4 mostly red
Are you parked on an incline? If you are the car is probably putting pressure on the gear selector lock. If you are parking on sloped surfaces make sure you use the ebrake. If it isn't that, then you probably need to take it in for a service and adjustment
