I just put the Kartboy shifter and bushings on last night. WOW! Talk about sweet. Honestly, get the bushings and replace them first and see if you actually want to spend the dosh on the shifter too. I got both because they were used, and it was a VERY good deal, however, the bushings will give you a really big difference. Nice Tight shifts with a resounding *snick* to let you know you are in place.
one word: AWESOME
BTW: Removing the stock bushing is a major pain. Just a heads up.

I installed a Cobb short shifter and Cobb bushings in my 2000 2.5RS a couple of months ago and I am extremely satisfied with my choice. The fact that you can adjust the shifter throw as well as the height was worth more than the price of admission My friend has the kartboy set up, which I installed for him. It also works perfectly, however; I prefer the Cobb.

thanks guys. i've heard alot of good things about the kartboy shifter plus its bout $40-$60 cheaper than the sti shifter from subaru.
How bout a blow off valve? heard the HKS super squential are great for the WRX.
One more main question, have the warranty on the WRX, any ideas of what parts i can add or modify that won't void my warranty.
thanks

I have an '03 WRX and i put on the K&N Typhoon Cold Air intake, but the BOV and the short throw shifter is always a good start.
The blow off valve that i got good reviews on and the short throw shifter that i got good reviews on at www.subarureview.com were the Go Fast Bits Hybrid WRX Blow Off Valve
And for the short throw shifter you have to find one with the linkage not just the control arm. . . I hear B&M has got a good short throw shifter but I love my STI
