correct me if I am wrong...

but I always thought that haveing to replace a clutch was due to the slipping of gears. Now being able to go into gear might just be an issue of you having to "blip" the throttle a little, before putthing the lever into first. Try that...and see how it goes.

Otherwise, try going up a steep hill, and stopping somewhere in the middle (obviously with no traffic in sight) of the road, and shifting into first, and slipping the clutch a little to see if it doesn't "catch."

Otherwise, mileage wise, I am not sure. The last car I owned gave me great performace from the clutch, up until the car was involved in an accident.

Alternative, you could have some "professional" look at it?

hope that helps,
i.

if you are having a hard time shifting in gears, your synchros may have been worn out.

the tranny consists of many different parts. Its not like it is 1 whole part that cant be tooken apart. So to answer you Q. Yes, they can be replaced.
