Need clutch info
Hi All,
This is an invitation to people w/ knowledge about upgrade clutches. I have been surfing the vender web sites and find that there are many WRX aftermarket clutches ava. I personally am looking for increased pressure for my street car(w/ Vishnu Stage 0 kit), but not something real stiff for racing. I think a Center Force unit(from Z-1) would work, but at $620, I want more info since some are as cheap as $250.
I also noticed several posts re clutches but no hard info such as where can I get an STi clutch.

ATC Street Clutch
I found that one at Subarustore for $460 and was able to talk to them. It looks like the one as a STI clutch costs $735. There is also a "Hyper single clutch" from Exedy for $420, but I don't have any more info on that one.

Go for the Exedy. They make OEM quality clutches.
I have the ACT clutch w/ Exedy lighten flywheel setup. It drives great on track events but its a little too harsh on the street. If I am doing it over again, I am going for Exedy clutches.

Then I'd take the OS Giken super single clutch kit that converts the TO bearing to a push style so your clutch pedal doesn't feel so damn numb like it does stock. It can also hold 600hp and about as much torque. Not to mention unlike most clutch kits its rebuildable and comes with everything you'll need like a lightened chromoly flywheel, TO bearing, new TO bearing lever, pressure plate, spacer discs and the clutch disc. It is however about $1200. At least its still very street driver friendly unlike the twin plates out there.
