MY96 shudder + uphill struggle

Hi all.

I have a MY96 1.8L Impreza 5 speed with 156,500 miles. I've owned the car since april and its always shuddered when pulling away in 1st gear whether it is hot or cold outside. The car also struggles terribly when pulling away on inclines from a stop. The steeper the incline, the harder it struggles to move out of it's own way.

I've searched and i read that clutch shudder seems common on subarus, but this is the original clutch and I think it may be time to replace it and maybe go with a lighter flywheel. Is it time to replace the clutch? Opinions?

Thanks!
