I would like to know how much crank HP the stock 04 WRX can take until you will blow it, thanx.

 

It's hard to say. I know one WRX wagon that had about 340 to the crank and lost third gear. I know others who have similar or higher numbers and have had no problems.

Mileage, abuse, type of tranny oil, etc. all come into play.

 

also, its more appropriate to ask how much torque it can handle since HP is just a multiple of torque/RPM. A tranny will be much more stressed on an engine making 100hp and 200tq than on making 200hp and 100tq, its good to keep that in mind since three are alot of us here with much different hp to tq numbers

 

I am rockin 310whp on a stage 4 with a front mount and my tranny is hangin with it. You just have to be nice to it 80% of the time.

 

It depends how you treat it. You could blow the transmission with a stock setup if you hammer on it.
