6-MT Tranny slipping, not clutch

My 6-MT (non-DCCD) acts like the clutch is slipping; car doesn't move while in gear but rpms go up. But, the clutch and flywheel have been checked out and are fine.
First time the car got about 24 hours to cool down it drove just like normal for about 5 or 10 hours then just started to slip. Now it'll only work right for less than 5 minutes before slipping.

Theories from tranny shop:
Electrical/Computer control of/in tranny
Dead center diff

Any ideas?

figured it out: place i had do the swap put an open diff in the rear and used crappy snap rings that let the axel slip outta the side gear. open diff = no power
have an '03 Sti DCCD w/o control unit, supposedly locks in 35/65 .... but actually works like an open center diff
result: no power to any wheel that grips, all power to wheel that slips
