Unhappy Help!!: Clutch replacement woes: Dealer scam?

Hi,

I've got a 2002 WRX wagon.

Dealer advised me I needed new clutch in May 2005. A little suprised - clutch did not feel like it was slipping - but I had been doing a lot of drop clutch launches. New clutch and plate installed May 05. Did not notice significant difference in driving.

Now past summer (2007) clutch was slipping like crazy - far worse than back in 2005 - car undriveable. New clutch only 2 yrs old - maybe 30,000 miles of very conservative driving - don't ride clutch - been driving stick for order 20 years.
Did not make sense.

Had new clutch installed in Sept 2007 - plate did not need to be replaced - car felt like new - has not driven this well since new - way different than last time it was replaced in 05.

All this makes me think that my dealer never actually replaced the clutch back in 2005. How can I tell? Does the fact that the plate did not need to be replaced mean anything? How could I prove it?

Thanks guys

Seems like it would be really hard to prove anything now.
