E-Brake AWD?

I have an 04 STI and have been told that e-braking is not ok in awd. I have noticed that you can not do it with the dccd set in anywhere but fully rear, and have noticed no trouble in auto. Any solid facts?

No, but logically it would seem to be hard on the center diff. But no solid facts. Although we should be careful with our center diffs!

From: Are you too one of the few still living the past? Well I can change that! With a simple wicket. Yes, my friend, a wicket. PM for details.
Car Info: No car right now....sob.
It will fry the Center Diff if you abuse it.

I blipped it in a wet turn and go the desired effect..... not sure how "tight" the center diff actually is.

the 6MT on the STi and electronically controlled center diff will automagically disengage when the ebrake is engaged. So you can ebrake all you want without damaging the center diff.

This is not true for the WRX andthe 5MT because it's a mechanical Viscous LSD.

beat me to it
but the viscous lsd should be able to take a very limitied amount of ebrake because its the heat that does them in so as long as you dont do it enough to over heat it your ok
