I guess they didn't align the dots right on mine. It was replaced last week and is worse.
I first complained at 1K miles. Saw the Rep, he said "Gee, must be something with the clutch or flywheel". Like it was unusual, as though there wasn't already a documented problem per the Bulletin. Dealer said he'd order the parts.
They finally got the parts 3 months later, when I had 7K miles on the car.
Still have the "Judder".
bill, no more suby's for me, g

Donohue,
How do you know what they install? I mean, the folks I'm dealing with are not the most forthcoming. I'm talking the Rep as well as the dealership/service manager. Your's must be a more customer oriented dealer.
When I first raised an issue about the clutch "judder" and stalling on initial take-off the Service Mgr suggested I didn't know how to drive. He actually said that. I'm like, gee, I've only been driving for 37 years and having turned wrenches at foreign and domestic stores for a number of those I've driven a variety of cars and I've never had a vehicle act like this unless something in the drive train or fuel supply was hinky.
So they *allegedly* replaced the clutch/pp/flywheel. But how do I know. They can pick up any old part and say "See, here's your's", or show me a box or a shipping receipt but it doesn't mean it went on my car.
Glad your's worked out well.
BTW, Whoever posted the Bulletin, Thanks, I'm gonna go hang around the dealership and stick it under windshield wipers -;

Donohue,
Your dealer sounds like mine, although if I trusted 'em as little as you do it would almost be worth the drive to find another.
I sent in a couple of negative Customer Satisfaction surveys on the one I deal with and I thought the Service Mgr was gonna take a swing at me the next time I went in to see about the clutch thing.

JUST REMEMBER THAT SENDING A NASTY SURVEY TO THE DEALER IN SOME CASES WILL ONLY HURT YOUR FUTURE VISITS --UNLESS YOU HAVE NO PLANS TO EVER VISIT THAT DEALER AS LANG AS YOU OWN YOUR CAR...SOME TIMES IT HELPS AND SOMETIMES IT HURTS...IT WILL ALWAYS BE YOUR CALL....

just called Irvine Subaru and they set up an appointment to test drive the car and evaluate whether the car has clutch shudder and needs to be replaced per the guidelines set forth by subaru. I'll keep you updated with what happens. I have an 02 WRX sedan and my appointment is for April 17.
