I dont know if the trannies are the same between stateside and Japanese GC models, but here is something I posted a while back about how to do a clutch/flywheel remove and install on a '93 WRX (GC8). Maybe it would help some.

If you ask me, the lightweight flywheel/clutch is the best mod for the money.
