The clutch cost depends on where you take it and what parts they use for the replacement. Locally, the Subaru dealerships around here charge around $900 US for a clutch replacement and flywheel resurfacing... which is too much in my opinion. Of course they are dealerships, so bending you over is there game.

A local clutch specialty shop charges about ~$650 US (I can't remember exactly) for the same work, and they use OE Subaru parts for the replacement. I would say you didn't do too bad. For myself, I chose to purchase an upgraded exedy clutch, and have it put in at a specialty shop for the same price a dealership would have charged for the whole replacement.
