in this case. u have to be at least a decent driver to beat him. the explipse turbo isnt that forgiving on a WRX stock turbo but u can beat him good chance as long as u got decent skills.

haha who u calling a bonehead EG1

do you even know what you said.

12's stock?? tons of people is a lot of people running 12's stock and that is not a lot of people. only some. and eclipses need turbo upgrade to be fast otherwise they are in the 15 14 range.

its not easy to be in t he 12's first of all unless you got a fixed up car or an expensive stock car like the corvette. how old are you ?

dude just do it , but becarefull my brothers fwd turbo eclipse ran 13.1 last time at the track on street tires , with the stock ported turbo , and injectors frount mount , etc etc ... , so they are quick , my advise to you is if he is running any sort of radials you might regret it , but if you see him on street tires with like 30 pounds in his tires go get him

You guys don't know much about DSM's do you? It is very difficult to run in the 12's in a dsm with the stock turbo. It is possible but only with a 1G dsm. No way with a 2G, the T25 is crap and won't hold more than 12psi to red line.

As far as a FWD being faster than an AWD, only on the highway. Stock to stock on the strip with people who know how to drive an AWD will smoke a FWD hands down everytime. Believe me I've had both.

As for you winning, if the guy has the stock T25 turbo you have nothing to worry about. I have a friend with a very similar setup to what you described and the best he has every gotten, and he is a good driver, is a 15.1. He gets absolutely no traction once the thing spools.

With this last comment I am not trying to start any wars, but DSM's IMO have much more potential for straight line speed than the WRX. This sadens me to say because I just bought an 04 WRX, but I just sold a DSM that ran 11.2@128.

DSM's (4G63) has been here 15 years while we just got the WRX 2-3 yrs ago i mean that hugely attributes to there being more sub 12sec DSM's WRX's but in a little amount of time Scooby's are already hot on the trail of the fastest DSM's and not tubed rwd race cars either and if your talking street tires they're already there.

And can you say crankwalk.

i raced my friends gsx but too bad it was an automatic. so to make things fair, we didnt launch, we just took off slow and gunned it at 10 mph. we were pretty even but i still had the advantage with a 5spd. it was an even race until after third gear then i walked on him about 1 car length. all he has is a boost controller and i have no idea what it was set at, and an exhaust. but i do know that dsm's are not that great until you add ungodly amounts of boost to them then look out

I am not talking about the tubr frame chasis crap. I am not fond of those cars and don't give them much credit. The cars I am talking about are the day to day street cars. There are also guys like John Shepperd who has run 9.03 at 150 with basically a full weight 1G, full interior and everthing. Those are the DSM's I admire, not the ones Buschur makes. You are right about the the time though. 15years is a long time for development compared to 3 years. I must say though that I love my 04 WRX. It is a great car just a little underpowered compared to what I'm used to.

Last i knew shepard was running 9.6's at 140mph if he's at 9flat now that's just sick.

I really don't care what it is if it's fast as long as it's not a domestic.*** cars rule the street.
