No i aint spraying yet it was very quick run the best i eva did...my car aint a ordinary sti its been through weight reduction and stuff its extremely light...no back seats, no carpeting, the black stuff under the carpeting for the silencing all that has been scraped out all the paddings from inside tha car down to the door panels have been removed i ran again the other day and did a 12.8 @115. i cant mount the NOS yet cuz i dont have n e space to mount the nozzle cuz im still runnin a top mount intercooler(larger) so the space between the throttle body and the intercooler is to small im wondering if its possible to allow NOS to flow through the intercooler. im just suggestin summen i donno if n e one eva tried it b4. what u guys think ????

I was very pissed because my car didn't run good with the stock map like it was supposed to. I was only really getting about 14-15 psi max from my data logger which explains the crappy times. The setup when dialed in is supposed to net 13.4-13.6 1/4 mile times.
This year at Infineon

Just wanted to know if you ran the VF 22 setup before you upgraded the internals and if you did how much boost did you run and how fast was it? I'm gonna run a VF22 with the 565's and greddy FMIC. I'm aiming for a mid to high 12.

My boost was falling off on every run so I really had to crank it for the track.
Do yourself a favor and upgrade the turbo if you want to be in the 12's.

Lol, you're kidding right? low 13's, high 12's not possible on the stock turbo? I'll have to tell my friends at the track the clocks are wrong or something . If you read my post, you will see it say's I only want that BEFORE swapping the turbo. I would not waste time or money swapping a turbo to go 12's, to me that is the equivalent of daily driving a Yugo- a 12 sec daily driver is nothing. Hell, the stock WRX makes me laugh every time I get on it lol. It feels like I can get out and grab a coffee half way down the track. Once the car is as fast ast it possibly will be stock, then the fun will start and I will be swapping a LOT more than just the turbo .

Besides why would a fuel that burns cooler make the car "white hot"? The lead will certainly clog it over time if it were to stay there, but not make the EGT's any higher than pump gas with high boost and the retarded timing caused by the knock sensor picking up all the knock you were getting from using pump gas. Retarded timing= higher EGT's. High octane leaded fuels= cooler combustion.

Higher octane fuel ignites at a higher temp which prevents knock so yes it does burn hotter. You might also note that the WRX strategy dumps fuel at the onset of knock. It learns this strategy over time so dumping in a ton of octane isn't helping things unless you reset the computer and let it relearn. There's an interesting set of directions on how to do this fairly quickly on this forum I think. I don't know that the strategy pulls much timing when knock is detected at all. To be honest I've nevery felt it pull timing even when I heard audible knock in low gears.

91 Talon (I know not a WRX)- stock everything except gutted cat 2.5" press bent cat back, MBC and K&N filter- 12.9@102 consistently. Run after run- at least a dozen runs in 3 track outings- amost identical times each run- driving constistently is the key, not luck .
I was mistaken on the octane apparently, I was always under the impression it burned slower and cooler- learn something new every day lol. All I know is it works for what I need.
I have to look into what the ECU learns in this car. I swear if it weren't for the OBD2 emissions here in NY, the car would have a haltech in it already. I can't stand things that don't do what you tell them to do lol.
Hmm, as for the driver- 31 and have been doing this since I was 15- I think I got that down. Like I said 12's in a near stock DSM, 11.7 in a near stock DSM with a TIRED *** motor and a 50 shot on it, 10.3@134 in my last camaro, 14.3 in my WRX bone stock with 230 miles on it and severe traction issues (lebanon valley SUCKS for traction when there isn't an event going on) and a whole slew of other times- I have been doing this a LONG time lol.

Oh yeah, I also don't really care if this car is consistent or not, I know what I want it to do before tearing it apart. I don't care if I scatter half of it down the track while doing so either . My plans for the thing don't really include anything it came from the factory with. I would prefer to keep my stock motor on a stand in case I ever want/need it, but if it doesn't last that long, so be it. It is the glass trans I am really worried about with this car though- I know it can't handle my DSM-style driving . I was actually considering just doing a mild setup with the WRX- stock motor, green, exhaust, FMIC and ECU work to make it somewhat quick and then get a DSM to play with instead since they are more capable of what I want, but part of me really wants to go to town on the WRX!!!

These runs are at sea level.
I cut a 1.7 60 foot on my last run and missed 3rd. I think I could have had a 13.2. Ah well. Maybe I'll get the short shifter.
