just a funny thing...wanted to share

If u have been watching a lot of WRX/STi drag races, u see that the opponent spends couple of seconds and shows off doing a very nice burn out to warm the tires before the race as they approach the start line....and u see the wrx/sti just slowly roll to the finish line...and at the end (most clips i've seen) the wrx/sti wins.....and if i was the driver doing the burn outs and all that and end up losing i would feel pretty stupid all the time, (waste of rubber)....lol

just something that i think to myself while watching some clips.....

2wd cars need to heat up their tires before leaving the line. The stickier they are, the better the traction.

Since we're all AWD... traction's not an issue, therefore, we don't need to warm them up to launch.

I think it's funny too. Street tires really don't get sticky like slicks do, if I was told correctly. I really think it's humorous when a civic with really bald tires does a long burnout, & makes his 17 sec. run

traction is not a problem, but bogging can be.

haha. i know how you feel. April 7th, i went down to infineon... The friggin H.Ser in my class was driving some kind of teal viliant or something. Busted a burnout right in front of me. *big fat one*. i've never seen one up close... i was right behind him and the smoke was coming through my vents. He takes off and it's my turn... i just roll up to the staging area. lol. everyone's giggling...
pretty embarassing. oh well.. i did alright.

It's cool to see AWD cars take off. THey launch @ 5K no prob. The civics, mitsus, SRT-4s etc... were bogging and slipping like crazy. heh. Makes me feel like i have an amateur car. hah.
