I didn't want to launch it bc that was right after I installed the vf39 and I knew I needed to beef up the tranny. You saw me beat greg 3 times from a dig so... shhhh. =)

ummm. its a different block... literacy problems major here.. STI=EJ257, WRX=EJ255 DIFFERENT BLOCKS...

and woodward the two motors also run two different compressions. wrx 8.4:1 sti 8.2:1

From now on, read the posts twice over. The EJ255T and EJ257T aren't exactly the same.

"The 2006 WRX short block is the same as the STI, except for the pistons. And the pistons in the WRX are the same as the STI, except for the extra 2cc of dish volume

thats what i said.. i said the blocks werent the same!! ???? where did u get that i said that they were the same.. and my bad agai.. u did ask rob and he didnt know either.. well i guess we all have some sort of crappy syncrho, that doesnt work very wel!

The specs I'm reading say wrx - 8.4:1 (+/- .2) and sti - 8.2:1

close enough.. the compression difference is caused by the heads, and the pistons

We don't. lol. They improved the first gear syncro in 2006 to dual-something or some shiz.
