I recommend getting a 94 or 95. They have the 1.8L engines (>93) that are OBD-I (<96). I bought a near mint 94 in March for $4,500 with 70k miles on it. One warning though. I love the car so much that I sold my WRX wagon since it just sat in the garage all the time. The top on the Miata is alway down unless it's raining. It's so much more fun to drive than the CRX and Civics that I used to have. I use mine as a daily commuter and weekend NASA HPDE car. Go to www.miata.net to get a little bit more info before you start shopping.

By the way, the gas mileage is not as great as you think. I get 25 mpg on mine with a pretty enthusiastic driving style. I used to get more than 30 on my Hondas with the same driving style. I guess 25 is still better than my WRX's 20, especially when the Miata can take 87 octane gas.

The Miata is a good azz car and a hell of a lot of fun to drive.

It's small and light so it handles great!

Lasts a while too.

But I have the same problem as a lot of folks...I don't fit! It sucks that I don't fit! HELP!

The trick to fitting a larger guy in a Miata is to get a racing seat custom mounted lower and farther back. I have seen guys way over 6 feet tall climbing out of Spec Miata cars that have full cages.
