towing a lowered wrx

whiledring my 02 wrx my check engine light came on. Not wanting to drive it anymore at that point I called for a tow truck. I specifically mentioned that I needed a flat bed because my car was all wheel drive. The first tow truck driver that showed up was not a flat bed so I sent him away. The second one was a flat bed but before he could put it up he said I had to sign a waiver stating that he was not responsible for the damage that "would" happen to my car when he put it up on the bed. He said that my after market exhaust would drage and the front and back end would scrap the ground. I don't have a body kit or a wrap. My car has been lowered with the eibach performance kit and I have the hks turbo back exhaust. Has any one else ran into this problem with towing. I opted not to tow and to take my chances driving to the mechanic. I was just wondering for the future if there is a way to tow a lowered wrx. Please help!

If your CEL came on steadily, and not flashing, it's not a sign of impending doom. Don't worry at all about driving it to the dealer to have it checked. Plus, if that HKS exhaust is a full turboback, I can almst guarantee that the CEL code is P0420 for Catalyst Inefficiency. Let us know what it is.

i second that- if flashing don't drive it. so u mean that the tow truck didn't have a dolly? i may be wrong, but it should've been okay if he had a dolly for the rear tires. if so gotta make sure that the car is not too close to the tow truck...otherwise you can guarantee serious bumper damage...(from experience of course)
