Is it just me, or is anyone else skeptical about the new engine choice....ie. VQ series?!?!

I mean RB26DET? Many professional drivers who have raced/got to drive a skyline called it "the best car ever made, with the best engine ever made"

I guess I fear change, but if it aint broke why fix it. Just throw some new front and rear facias on the R34 and Fling em across the pond

Has Nissan gone on record saying that the next GT-R (which, insomuch as I know, has nothing to do with the G35/Z) will be VQ powered?

Oh, and Top Secret built a WICKED VQ powered R34, so even if that is the engine we get, I'm willing to bet Nissan will stuff some tough internals in there. They don't go around haphazardly slapping the GT-R badge on just anything...

Someone mentioned the v35 gtr will be turbo, that is only partially correct. The JDM version should be turbo but here in the US we will get a v8.

I thought Nissan had gone on record saying that it WILL be Twin Turbo. I need to find a Nissan Press Release and post it here, this issue is (understandably, because it's so damned cool) becoming a rumor mill..

Nope, we get as hyshara said, a twin turbo 6. Nobody knows the engine code yet though

I seen the redesign skyline. It is actually designed by Renault, and is based on the 350z platform. If you check you my gallery you will see the actual production model.
