Skyline Prices
Ok, I heard that the "new" version of the Skyline is coming in 2006, I've also heard that it might be here later than that. Can someone fill me in with some good info on when it will be here and app. how much it will cost?

I'd guess a Japanese release in either 2006 or 2008 if they model up from the R35, and a subsequent US release a year or two later. Prices for non-GT-R's should be about the neighborhood of an Infinity G35, and GT-R's would probably start at the low $50K's.
This is just my speculation, don't quote me on any of this info

I would also guess that it will be badged a infinity and will most likely be a form of G35 of some sort(AWD, twin turbo). If you are that interested I would check out the skyline section on www.freshalloy.com.

Just to get he record Straight... The G35 is a Skyline. The GT-R versions will not be coming to the US shores until 2008. It will be a V-6 twin turbo from the factory. Prices will be atleast $50 grand and will likely go against the M3, S4, and AMG C class. The car will be badged as an Infinity and will have a lil more lugurious feel than the previous GT-R's for the US market. Power is going to be around 400 HP.
Nissan said that they are not rushing the GT-R project to come to the states right now. They have been working on other projects and that they project the GT-R's to hit the States in 2008 and no earlier than 2006. O and they are gonna keep the quad lights that are a Skyline trade mark... atleast for the GT-R models (rumored).
 Yeah Baby! Yeah!

According to my friend whose family has serious ties in nissan (his father owns multple dealerships), according to internal Nissan USA (or w/e the name is) the slated release date is mid-'06
My wife is japanese and she was reading a japanese newpaper about three weeks ago and said that Nissan Japan will sell the R35 GTR in 2006. I don't know if they are going to sell them in the states but, it sounds awsome. I'll try to find out my info later.
The R35 GT-R is not even going to be a Skyline from what I understand. It's kind of like when the Celica Supra just became its own car, the Supra. So, the new Skyline is already out, it's the G35. The R35 will probably (hopefully) be something completely different.

Yeah, I heard somewhere it's just going to be the Nissan (or Infiniti I guess) GT-R. I hope they don't weigh it down with too much luxury crap.
With any luck they'll offer a somewhat stripped-down version, like the 350Z Track model. I don't want to pay for leather seats when I'm just going to rip em out and put Recaros in there anyway.
EDIT: But yeah, I can't imagine prices starting much over $50k for the full twin-turbo version, it needs to be viable competition for the M3.
I REALLY hope they also release a RWD turbo version, a la GTS-t. We need more turbo RWD cars here, damn lack of S15...

I've driven an R34 GT25S-t before
It was a steal -- 2yrs old at the time and only 10,000 km on it for about USD$26K
If the S15 came stateside, they'd prolly do something gay like shove a KA24DE in it
