furthermore, heres what Chris over on the GTR forum who owns a GTR AND and modded turbo 997 said when he took them both out to Thunderhill

Conclusion: Stock for Stock, the 997TT HAS NO CHANCE WHATSOEVER versus a stock GT-R. GT-R versus a modded 997TT would be a driver's race.
you cant ask for much more of a qualified, objective opinion than someone who owns both cars and drives them back to back on the same track on the same day.

*as for the carrera gt, that **** is in another tier of automobile. up with the enzos, and SLRs and koeniggsegg. anyone or any car enthusiast i would expect to take the carrera gt...most beautiful sounding car ever made IMO
too bad a gtr can take a dump on the GT.

I know what you are saying, all I was saying was that they change the map to where you live in the country cause some states use 91 and some have 93. I am sure many people have hacked into the grt's ecu. As they should lol why not make a fast car faster. But for the test on the ring they kepped the car stock to show you how bad a$$ the new gtr really is

Could also mean the learning trims/ mutipilers in the ecu were @ 100%

Adaptive ECUs are hard to compair now days. Even car to car , back to back

I'm a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE Porsche fan, however, only the high end porsches....

If I had 100k to spend on a porsche, or I could buy a GTR, I'd get a GTR in a second... Hoever, give me the option of a GT2 or GT3 and I'll rub my nut sack all over that GTR.

The regular turbo is meh compared to the GTR.

heh, yeah that "fine German engineering" is what makes it twice as expensive but slower than the GTR

sorry but there is WAY more technology and engineering in the GTR than the 997 Turbo, its not even close. Honestly, other than the trick VNT turbos they started using on the 997s, theres very little on the Porsche thats breaking any ground engineering wise like on the GTR. The 997 AWD drivetrain is mostly carried over from the 996 and no more advanced than whats on the STI or EVO, hell Porsche is the last to the table with a DSG trans.
Look Im not trying to hate on porsche here in every post, but that comment of yours was just laughable, but thats fine, people that think like that is what keeps Porsche in business!

Regardless of the superiority of the DSG style thingus, I feel they should have offered a 6spd with a 3rd pedal. Yes I know the DSG shifts faster, but I would not want one at this stage in my life. If I had the money and were considering both cars, that would be a deal breaker for me. Well that and I really want a GT2.

Friggin stupid moved threads. Ugh.

That was a pretty nice lap in the GT-R, looked almost leisurely. Wonder what it would be like with better rubber a touch of oversteer...
