G35C... or STi... help!
G35C... or STi... help!
ok.. so im fairly new.. been lurking these boards alot lookin at the subys here... and am considering an STi or G35C.. i know they're both very different.. i test drove an STi and loved it, but haven't had a chance to checkout the G35C...
im still in the "looking" mode atm.. so am not serious.. but i can't make up my mind in which would be the better buy..
I'm mainly looking for peoples advice on reliability.. how does the STi hold up.. say after 100k? still good? any probs with turbo? i've never owned a turbo car before
any advice/help/2 cents you guys could drop would be appreciated

The STi is produced with less compromise towards civility as a daily driver. Stiffer suspension, dry weather tires (not all-season), AWD with electronically-controlled differential. A spare set of wheels and winter tires and you're ready to go skiing/snowboarding when the white stuff falls.
The G35 is a more refined sports touring package.
An STi with 100,000 miles on the clock? The car debuted in the U.S. as an '04 model in 2003 so there are probably only a few owners that put on 50,000 miles per year.

Sti Baby
I Just Went Through The Same Delema And After I Test Drove The G35. I Had To Go With The Sti. I Sold My 02 Wrx And Went With The 05 Sti Is Was Better For Me Way More Potential I Believe. I Also Test Drove A Corvette And Still Went With The Sti. Depending What You Are Going For Though. You Should Test Drive Both A Sti And The G35 That Have Been Broken It Already In My Opinion. I Love My Car

thanks
the G35 is a luxury sports coupe. the interior is much more refinsed, leather seating, navi, sound system, etc. it's not as raw or hard edged as the STi in terms of performance, handling and styling... i think a better comparison would be against the Z...
I own a Sti and G 35 x , totally different cars! I would say that for performance the Sti and for general everyday duty the g35. The g35 is nothing near the Sti in the performance department, and comfort the g35 is miles ahead of the Sti. I bought both so no need for compromise1
once you test drive the g35, you'll probably lean more towards one of them since they're nothing alike. What's the purpose for the car? you might find it easier to decide once you know the purpose.

i was a wrx owner and am now a g35c owner. i went from a '03 automatic wrx that i had modded with a full vf34 setup (reflash, injectors, full exhaust, etc...) to a bone stock '05 automatic g35c. it's not really fair to compare my wrx with my g35, they're 2 different classes of cars (luxury coupe vs. entry level sports sedan). personally, i'm much more satisfied with the G than i was with my WRX, but that's just me.
what are you planning on using the car for? for spirited driving, they're probably very close. for track driving and all out performance, STi is better. for cruising, long trips, and bling factor, the G35 is better.
