Extended Warranty Insurance
Has anyone heard of this extended warranty insurance that you can get for your car, after your existing warranty is up? It isn't dealer specific, and you can choose your own shop. It might be cool to have that, and choose a shop like GST. Just a thought. Does anyone know more about this?

I have done quite a few repairs covered by extended warranties.
Some points to be aware of:
1. Warranty companies will only pay a max per hr rate, which is usually lower than a shop's hourly rate....meaning you cover the balance. Example: If I charge $105/hr and the company's max is $80/hr, you're gonna pay me $25/hr for covered repairs.
2. Warranty companies may not pay sales tax. If so, the customer will have to pay the sales tax.
3. Depending on the car's value vs cost of repair, your car may be "totalled" out.
