Ok guys I have a 02 Mustang GT. i know i dont have a subaru or anything but this is another car forum im registered to and i cant get any legit remarks from my current forum. I scraped my Off Road Xpipe on a bump the other night. now while on the throttle there is a rapping sound. Would there be a whole/break in the X somewhere from the scrape from the info. i just provided or could it be another problem. Any and all help is much appreciated.

 

you may have broken a hanger or something like that. if the exhaust does not sound louder, you probably don't have a leak. sometimes a small leak won't make a loud exhaust type sound, but more of a compressed air sound. sorry if thats unclear.

yea thx a lot that was exactly what it was. The idiot who installed the Xpipe didnt put a gasket between the pipe flange and header. I had a 1/8'' gap between header and Xpipe. My exhaust tone is a lot quieter but i have even more power so it worked out for the best i guess...
