Tips on selling a car(EBAY??)
So lately, I have grown extremely tired of the Honda scene. I cant drive down the highway without some punk *** trying to race me with his 85 civic hatch. So I test drove a new WRX on Saturday and my mind is made up. However, I need to sell my car before I can get a new one. So I am posting here in hopes of getting a few pointers. As of right now, I have my car on EBAY as well as AUTOTRADER but I haven't gotten any serious bites. Just a few dreamers. Is there something I'm doing wrong here? Is the price too high?
Breakdown
KBB value = 14310
invested = 5000
I though 13500 was fair but obviously I will go down a bit. I think the lowest I could afford to go is about 12,500. Anyone got any kind of advice for me??? I REALLY need out of this car THIS MONTH
edit: price is down to 12,000

I don't know how well AutoTrader works.
Ebay seems to work real well for cheaper cars, like those $5000 and less. I think you'll struggle to sell it on there.
The used car market right now is rather dead too.
Best thing I've found that works...big For Sale sign parked along a high traffic area.

When I was selling my Audi TT225 Coupe, Autotrader wasn't getting any attention but as soon as I put it on Ebay I had TONS of emails asking questions and making offers. But I did buy 3 cars recently (to be honest one of them I found for my mother) from Autotrader. All it takes is one person! I feel it is worth it since you don't pay much (the free service is worthless) but keep it there until it sells, just my 2 cents.

which is a little discouraging.
figure that you might spend $100 or so to pay for the listing on ebay... but everyone will be emailing you and making offers
thats how i sold my civic, it was 2000 hatch with a couple grand in mods and 40,000 miles... someone flew from texas to new york to drive it home less than two weeks after i listed it....
i gave him a good price though

I sold both my Prelude SH and my Integra R on AutoTrader for my asking price. I had put my R on eBay and got no serious interest. KBB "retail" prices are notoriously inflated. You'd be lucky to get what they say for trade-in on a private sale, generally. I have never heard of a dealer actually offering what KBB says trade-in should be.
Do you have plenty of photos and a complete, well-written description? Have you discussed completely the car's history, records of service, etc.?
Do put in the VIN. People will think you're trying to hide something if you don't.

I got $17k for my Prelude SH with about 53k miles, and it was 3 years old at the time. However, it was bone stock and in perfect condition. With as many mods as your car has, you'll have to find a buyer who is into exactly what you are. I have seen a lot of people with modded cars have trouble selling them. In addition to the taste issue, there is the fear among many buyers that a modded car might have been modded hapharzdly or abused. I'd put the car back to stock as much as possible and sell the aftermarket parts. A lot of times you might be able to find someone to trade you your aftermarket parts for stock parts, and this would be advantageous to you. Also, what's up with the warranty? If it is an extended warranty, you need to give specifics. More photos would be good too. Good luck!
