used car buying tips
my gf is looking for a used car under $3000. Perferredable under $2000.
What model and year is more reliable than the others?
What model and year to avoid?
Any sign for a no-no?
Any tips on checking out the car for potential issue before taking it to the machanic? Machanic cause $$$ and I only want to do it to the car that I think is no obervious issue.
thanks

used cars
I used to sell cars for a living...I wouldnt hold it against me...
the one car that comes to mind is a Civic, if you can get one in that range it should be pretty good.
Best place to get a car like this would be an auction house, there is one we used to deal with at the dealership that is in redwood city off 101 near carlsen porsche you can have a mechanic check it out the cash it cost
100 or so bucks will out way the risks of buying a car at auction, also the cash you save at the auction will cover the cost of the mechanic easy.
