Buy a ford GT, much more money and top speed is over 200MPH!, the vette still has an OHV motor way behind the times, The skyline is a joke it's ugly the reason people covet it is you can't get it over here without being ripped off. Get the mustang GT at least you can take a few friends with you on your Vegas runs. Yea they'll need to be kinda small to fit in the back seats but its an option.

Get the Vette for sure. It's a super car killer for half the price. It's handling is insane and it comes out of the box with awesome power. Get exhaust, headers, intake and a cam and it'll be unstoppable.

I can't believe you just suggested buying a GT (not GT40, they haven't made those in 40 years) then ripped the Skyline and Corvette, then suggested buying a Mustang. Lay off the pipe my friend.

I wonder what route folks will be taking in modifying their Z06's?

What do y'all think about some big vortec heads, some low compression pistons, the entire AWD drivetrain from a Chevy Equinox, and a mild turbo or supercharger.

Now, maybe it'd be a Veyron killer.

I meant the ford GT which is a remake of the GT40. So I'll correct that right now.

I'd go with the nissan simply because the american car alternatives you've listed aren't the most reliable. Fast yes, but only as long as they are running.

Corvettes are far from unreliable. Been that way for over 30 years... since it's been much longer than that since the basic hardware changed. Classic case of not fixing what ain't broke.

I want the 2006 Z06, I like the little ram air scoop and I like the numbers. On the 17 mile Nuremberg it came in with the second fastest time of any production car ever, something like 11 seconds slower than the $400,000 Porsche GT.

They only had the Nuremberg rented for 1 hour. So they only had a few runs, it is a LONG course.

These kinds of numbers are hard to ignore and have sold the 2006 Z06 to me, but I just lost my job

Who was driving the vette Ron Fellows. Just saw a C-6 today it is the best look'g vette ever. I'm not a big fan of the push rod, I think the only performance cars using them are the Viper and Vette, but both are great cars.

mmhmm. you'll be seeing 1300hp street driven shelbys soon enough. for $20k less than the z06, the new cobra is definitly the best bet.

definitly most potential. wait till some pyschopath turbos the shelby or new z06!!

one day i will own one... one day.

NegAtif GhostRider.... let's see how many Shelby's are in the GT class races, GrandAm, etc.... The Z06 is by far better than the Shelby. I love them both and would take either in an instant but the Z06 can compete with exotics in a way that the Shelby would be dwarfed in comparison. The Ford GT is more the match for the new Z06.

Shelby vs STi/EVO
Z06 vs Ford GT/F430/Lambo VT series
