Yep at 6:45 in the morning I got reffed by a Petaluma cop exhaust. He pulled me over because of the window tint and then said my exhaust was too loud aps 3" catted... Yeah I get to go to court again.

I think it might be time to sell the car.

Or, you could bring all your previous reffed data, go to court, and push for harassment charges. Talk to the DA and say you are willing to bring up charges on the police and the officer unless this goes away rather quick.

the "state ref ticket" is designed for you to bring the car back into compliance...NOT revert back, you are going to have one hell of a time with this one buddy. I'm sure you will get let off again but how many times you want to do this? Next time they might be towing your car

*your car is a target, its beyond nice and flashy.

Yeah the cop wrote the ticket as a fix it ticket and listed both as correctable but i still have to go through the state ref.

What he needs to do is go after them with a good lawyer. Right now with as strapped for cash as the state is, they are more likely to back down and settle quietly for a small sum to pay off the lawyer, than to let it get to court.

I suggest getting rid of the wing, it will make a huge differance and any illegal tint. If you don't have those it is HIGHLY unlikely they will pull you over solely for exhaust since exhaust tickets are normally add on to something else that you did or have wrong.

I got a ticket for my exhaust when my car was parked and I wasn't even in the same city as my car.

I'm wingless too.

I also got stopped for my exhaust when my car was in neutral, going the speed limit, and all my windows were down. (Basically all he did was look at the canister). That cop was a ****ing dick though, the other 2 in this post were really cool.

I also got pulled over with the Borla XR-1 which looks as stock as they come

well if you are wingless and look more or less stock you will not be as noticed as one with tint and a sti wing. It stands out in traffic and makes you a target, but obviously if a cop wants to be a dick they can pull you over, even if you are 100% stock, and ref you.

I have expired tags, a cracked windshield, a nasty flat black paint job, TWO wings and my car is usually leaking something or smoking.

I never get pulled over. Maybe its because I just have a stock STi exhaust with two cats still...

or maybe its because I live in San Francisco.
