Games. Not all games are available on PC.
Forza 5 is coming out on Xbox One... I'm buying it.
I don't think it looks all that bad though. I haven't seen any press releases about fees. Both Sony and Microsoft are talking about getting the old games to play. The PS4 and Xbox One are pretty much identical.
Is the WiiU really Nintendo's console for this generation? I don't think it is comparable to the PS4 and Xbox One at all.

Q: Will Xbox One be backward compatible with my existing games?
A: Xbox One hardware is not compatible with Xbox 360 games. We designed Xbox One to play an entirely new generation of games—games that are architected to take full advantage of state-of-the-art processors and the infinite power of the cloud. We care very much about the investment you have made in Xbox 360 and will continue to support it with a pipeline of new games and new apps well into the future.

Although with regards to the used game fee, seems like MS is denying it now (probably after much backlash towards the idea). The did the same towards always online internet connection, but still requires you to go online for many features.

- PCs don't require an xbox Live! subscription
- I routinely purchase PC games on steam sale or amazon sale for <$10
- PC graphics on medium are clearly superior to console graphics. It doesn't take much PC power to do 1920x1200 decently at medium. You don't need to play PC games on Ultra High settings to have an enjoyable experience
online, PC gamers are somewhat more mature than your typical xBox or PS "your mom joke" 12 year olds. It's no bastion of maturity, but a step above.
This appears to be the generation of monetization. No way I'm buying a console this gen. Maybe a WiiU if my 5 year old daughter needs some more dance games, but certainly not around a console required to be connected to the internet and a camera / microphone.
Kinect is cool and all, but they're crossing a line I'm not willing to follow them across.
the fact its not backwards compatible is good, it's a real computer! 8 core cpu and 8 gig of ram.
Anyway it doesn't really matter because the xbox 360 is far inferior harware to the ps3 yet xbox has continually **** on playstation. Also any dual platform games the inferior xbox has always rocked the playstations better hardware. Can't wait to see what some new baller hardware will bring. I expect the gap between the 2 to grow and eventually playstation will try to figure out a niche like nintendo.

You can make a pretty good argument that development of modern games is most limited by the ancient memory subsystem of the old consoles. In this aspect the xBox 360 is without a doubt ahead of the PS3.
A PC doesn't take that much money when you consider:

I've seen Tomhardware suggestions on the $500 dollar rigs for gaming, which I feel like can run games on medium settings at decent FPS. But A little more and you get more of a video card with the Phenom X4 BE still.
The only thing I might do if I do want a better setup is to have dual monitors so I can drag stuff on one monitor that I'm working on and play **** on the other one. But I absolutely agree it doesn't take much to run games on medium.
I'm waiting as I think the future standard is having a bootup solidstate(once they're cheap enough) along with another drive to store stuff, 8gb ram (dirt cheap), and switching from amd to intel for CPU as they're far superior in terms of performance (but obviously costs a tad more), and fatty graphic card. I figure $1,000 would be the tops, but we'll see in a couple more years when things get cheaper.

I really doubt they will actually charge a used game fee. They talked about that and always on DRM. They since backpedaled on the DRM. I don't doubt that they will do the same for used fees.

The computer debate is a weird one. It's obvious that a computer has potential to be much more powerful. But that power comes with a price and depending on your personality, you can sink a lot of money on a computer.
I think I have some $2000 in my computer (I try not to think about it) and it isn't as powerful as I want it to be. Even though it still out specs these new consoles and it does everything I want to do with ease.

Well, sure, someone with more money than brains can do that with anything (cars, computers, riding a bike, shooting airsoft, whatever). No matter how you enjoy spending your free time you can go overboard for little to no reason. This kind of self restraint requirement is universal, regardless of your chosen free-time killer.
