Pete I have the factory alarm system in my bucket, your more than welcome to it for free. You may have to help me pull it out but other than that it's free

Thanks Mike, Wrexr beat you to it though.
I plugged it in just a couple hours ago and it works as much as it does, I don't think its much of a deterrent for these quick smash-and-grab crooks, but I think its better than nothing.
Now to figure out how to rig a tazer to shoot out when a window gets smashed.....

Sorry to hear. Getting ripped off sucks.
The first window was probably to see if you had an alarm. That's what they did to my friends house. He didn't. They came back later an emptied the place.
At least it wasn't the rear hatch heated window. Those things are mondo expensive to replace. Another friend of mine had his smashed for no apparent reason while it was parked in his driveway in Berkerly. Strange thing with that one was they left a suitcase full of clothes. Well that's Berkerly for you I suppose.
You were right not to confront the guy. Never know if he has three friends waiting round the corner and its not worth getting beaten up or worse for the sake of a few hundred bucks.
Shame about the CDs. Maybe if you can remember the titles we can rip you some temporary replacements to soften the blow.
