WTF is wrong with people... more fires

Santa Cruz is fire central this past month.

What kind of dick sets fires during a drought year on the hottest day of the year. It's 103 in santa cruz. This is possibly the hottest day I've ever experience in Santa Cruz country.

My co-worker just jammed out of here. His house is in the same area as the fire.

There hasn't been a major fire in santa cruz in 100 years. Soon as they annouce that on the news we get 3? What?

The king city fire is MASSIVE too.

I think it's a combo of really bad things. Drought year. Abnormally high heat and winds for some areas. And an arson.

I don't think they're all arson but I wouldn't be surprised to find out that 2 or the 3 SC fires are linked.

Exactly... you get them all the time. Santa Cruz DOES NOT.

And a lot of the fires up there don't rip through multi-million dollar homes.

I seem to remember the big one in 2001 made news. Big news until 9/11 hit. I remember clearly them grounding the planes... including the fire planes. People literally cheered in the grocery store when the first planes where heard over head again.

I know a few places just got finished rebuilding a couple years ago.

Big fires are not just based on destruction of timber.

My buddy is close enough that he can see the heat waves. He's less than a mile away. Fortunately its blowing the other way.

The freeway is CLOSED. Freedom is a parking lot. I have to drive to san jose to get home. Yeah...

I guess this dude was driving down the freeway starting fires and people where calling 911 and reporting him.

I don't know about you but I'd put my car keys on the table in a bet that I GUARANTEE you if I saw someone doing that **** I'd drive up and block them in and knock them the **** out.

Arsonist are about the worst kind of people on the planet. You're taking people homes, lives, pets, memories from them. Killing the beauty of the planet. Etc. ****ing *** holes. I'd put them just about pedofiles. It's a cowards crime.

Yeah I know. My family is from rail road flats dude.

Just need to realize that santa cruz doesn't get major fires. The fogs, cold winds and temperature usually stops it. Not to mention this one is a known arson.

seriously. I know for sure they would have gotten a boot in the head if my buddy was close enough on his bike. He had to split dead traffic to get to his place. It's right on the other side of the hill I guess.

we need to head up to arnold and do some painting and landscaping before the neighborhood folks get pissed.

yeah my folks are off freedom/amesti and they got a call and are actually packing some stuff just in case.

My buddies and coworkers places are like a quarter mile/half mile away... hopefully the wind keeps pushing south.

shallow side note... you still have that clock by chance?

I've been watching this fire from my office window since right after it started. We can hear propane tanks exploding, then see plumes of dark smoke. That can't be good.

Good luck to anyone trying to get through and especially living in that area.
