So, I've heard people recommed LIC and Gruppe-S. I know Gruppe-S is closer and easier to get to for my brother. Any reason to go to LIC over Gruppe-S?

all depends on preference....ive been to gruppe-s once and recently, they were pretty good, did a great job on my clutch
i just like how i can go to LIC, shoot the **** while they do my car, and theyre one of the most honest and great quality shops ive ever been to for a mechanic. adam/noah/kevin are definently the best IMO for mechanicing

If the body and suspension is still tight and in good shape id go with a new motor a nice rebuilt or something with a little more power would be a great upgrade.
but id get it out of the dealer it will endup costing alot more then what they are quoting now. use a good shop known and used by others on here to get the work done if you cant do it yourself.

I would suggest AutoHeadquarters as well. They do a lot of Subaru work including engine swaps. Kevin is a Subaru master technician and ASE certified in every catagory.

He was in Japan but should be back in the USA now.
