I drive up to my personal limitations, no further. If something seems hairy, I back off. Sure I have drifted my kyosho mini z racer with foam tires and nimh batteries around corners at 100+, but I can control and recover from a slide.

The driver is married to my brother-in-law's younger brother.
She is lucky to be alive. The broken femur could've severed an artery. To top it off, they could've been smacked by the train after rolling the car.
I'll reserve my comments since she's family, and we're just praying she gets better soon.

Only if my damn email notification thing works...
You know what, sorry to say, I don't have much sympathy if any for the driver. Put it this way, if you were involved in that accident in anyway, you won't be saying the same. (say if you were hit by that car) If she was driving normally, or even just a little bit faster (5mph over limit). I would have looked at it from a different view.
And what is your issue here? So what if I don't drive a WRX? This is the second time you talk trash about me because I drive a RS.

that's one of the most heartfelt, sympathetic things i've heard anyone ever say. I'm glad you feel for the condition of the people involved in the accident
I hope they get well soon.

people don't but cars to go 5 MPH over the speed limit, I am sure you have done 80 or 85 on the freeway before...how can u not have sympathy for someone who almost died? Sure the person made a mistake, but I am sure that person learned from that mistake as well....
What do you know, now my email notification works.
Now Mr. Porkchop. How have I been an *** to YOU? And PLEASE give me just ONE example of how have I given other RS drivers a bad rep?
I don't have sympathy for the driver because for one I don't even know her, and two it was her fault. I've been into WAY too many situation, where the other driver was being careless and almost got me into an accident. Hell, I've been in few accidents and they were ALL because some idiot driving like crap.
Tell me this Mr. Porkchop. If you were hit by that car, would you honestly say that you feel sorry for her? I know I wouldn't. If I really wanted to give "smart ***" comment, I would have said something else.
And who died? Thank God no one in my immediate family. But people I know or I have seen gotten hit and kill by drivers like that. I am not a traffic police, but I would never want to get hit by a car that is going 80 mph into a turn. Do you?

so what is your problem about not having sympathy for the driver? Does it really make you feel good to say "another insurance bump... " after someone crashed their car? You made a smart *** comment, I gave you a smart *** reply, and will continue to do so.

Sure I have gone 80 or 85 on the freeway before, but I made the decision of doing so. And I can't expect others to feel sorry for me because I endanger myself or possibly others when i get into an accident. Everyone make mistakes including me, and I am sure she learned from it, and so have I.
I guess people don't see what I see and I understand. But seriously, how would you feel if you or your love one was hit or even killed in that accident? I know, we could all easily say BUT NO ONE DID!! But do we really want to wait until someone does get kill or seriously injured?
I used to FLY around a lot. Until I start reading posts like these, news, and even see them with my own eyes. I then realized what a jackass I was and slow down. Do I have the need for speed? Sure, but that's what the tracks are for...
