wrx 30k service at dealer or mpjperformance?
Hi,
The price difference between 30k service at dealership vs a good independent shop such as mpjperformance is quite significant.
Other than getting stuff fixed under warranty (I could always brig in the car outside of any service), is there any other advantage to going to dealership?? Are they going to be THAT much better for 30k service?
- ECU computer analysis?
- replacing brake pads for free?
- ???
Thanks!

no. I would take it to mpj. there is no ecu analysis or free pad replacement.
get a list and quote and have mpj (if you can't do it yourself) and save a few hundred $.
they can't deny your warranty as long as you keep records or have a receipt.

1st post? welcome!
the advice given by both members above are good advice. the only time when dealership service maintenance is prudent is when there is a warranty claim you need to make or have documented. for example, if your tranny is acting up, you should have the dealer document it.
if you are technically inclined & don't mind the work, do it yourself. if not, have mpj do it.

the reason prices are so high at the dealership is that theres more people in line to take your money than there are at private independent shops. Also, alot of the guys working at the dealerships actually have less experience than guys at independent shops, many techs get their first jobs from deaerships to get enough experience to move on to a better paying independent shop or open their own shop, so keep that in mind as well
This is HAAT! I am gonna get my list of things [they] supposedly do, prolly get my parts from subaruparts (ain't that the one mexicanpotload ah er I mean..) and have MPJ do it. Yay!
I have to say they DO adjust your clutch and oil your door hinges on the 15k - I know this because now my clutch is all weird and there is dirt stuck to all the oil that they oozed in my door jambs.
You said potload.
