Gahhh just venting that this recall is PITA. Have a shiggy tune from Auto Headquarters rather than a cobb ap. Capitol advised they can't do the recall and I'm sure it's noted I'm tuned. I have the workorder paperwork which looks like I got the work done, but not an official DMV slip. this is going to be fun

When you have to smog the car, will they be able to tell on their monitors that a reflash has been done? Or would they just be going by paperwork ect?

Well they don't detect tunes really. I've done 2 smogs with year, one with an open sourced ecu and another with XEDE.

Also, refusing the re-flash might be grounds for them to deny you engine/drivetrain warranty down the road, although if your modded you might not really care, but just one more thing to take into consideration

isnt this just for 2011+ models? might have trouble finding them at the junkyards, but yeah a second ECU is the way to go.

It's basically all paperwork. In order for the dealer to say you completed the reflash, there needs to be a repair order that's written up that says that us techs reflashed the vehicle, then the advisor gives you some paper saying you completed it and inputs it into the system which will show up when the smog places look at it.
