Update #2.
Just got back from looking at the car.
Amazingly the stereo is still there. Ipod is gone. Wifes work keys were still there.
There were no keys on site when the car was found. So the perp still has the car key and our house key. AND they took the copy of her Reg, so they now have our address.
On top of all that, while going thru the center consol, there was a single key sitting in the cup holder. Tried it and it opens the car AND starts it. The mother ****ers made a copy of the key! And there were new clothes in the back seat with the tags still on them (prolly stolen too).
So now we have to call the landlord to tell them we need a new lock for the house AND a new key to the car since they might still have my wifes keyring and reg. Fun times.

Got new locks on our front door and security screen tonight.
And i also realized that the spare key to the suby is on my wifes key chain
I feel like i should get my locks changed on my car now too
Ill ask insurance if this whole claim would cover it haha

Thieves are the scum of the earth!
I'm glad the car was found, but obviously I'd be cautious since the guy knows where you live, possibly where your Suby is, where your wife's car is.
Best of luck to you while you sort this stuff out.

insurance claims person (not the agent ive been working with on the phone). Called and left a message this morning sayin she went and looked at the car and it doesnt look that bad, a little paint scrapped up front but thats its.
I was PISSED when i heard that message. We were told we could meet them there and go over everything. I mean honestly whos gunna know whats messed up, some insurance person coming in and seeing the car for the frist time, or the ppl who own it!
Then we tell her how they still have the keys and reg so we should get the keys changed on the car too. "um well idk how that has anything to do with this blah blah blah"... oh im heated right now

I told my wife that for the next couple months, if someone knocks on the door, and we dont know them... dont answer. Then lets see if they try to bust out a key and open the door or go to one of the cars. That would be the sign to release Kane and tell him to "get 'em "

Mercury. They've been good to me. The person assigned my claim has been good, but the adjuster that got sent out seems to have an attitude problem.
we went to the shop today and told them they we were supposed to be here and they said that makes sense and usually Mercury is on top of everything.
From what we found today... the shop says theres a good chance the car might be totaled out
So we have to wait on the final verdict to see if they will repair or concider it a loss. Even then, idk if we want to buy it back with a salvaged title or what..
lol yea

That stretch of Indiana is terrible for cars, especially on club nights (Cocomo). I live about three blocks away and count glass piles on my way to the dog park. It's gotten a tiny bit better since the Esprit lofts were built but still not so good.
We now have a big homeless camp full of younger drug addict looking creeps right there under the freeway (22nd St.).
Glad they found it!

the moral of the story: hide yo kids hide yo wife.
I mean keep your car keys and house key separate. And the registration under a seat.
