Yea when the cops came to file a report they say that a majority of the stolen cars are taken for joy rides till they run out of gas. Then they are left in a parking lot of something and recovered 3/4 days later.

Thing that sucks, is if its not recovered, we have to wait around 30days for insurance to cut a check or anything.

Missing keys and missing car? Don't want to sound like a negative nancy but it's probably someone you know.

That was already brought up, but we are 100% sure its not.

This was just a simple girls night with her cousins (7 girls total). They do it every 3/4months at different places (Sac, SF, Fairfield, whoevers place wants to host them next).

I have a feeling my wife might have dropped them when getting all of her stuff out of the trunk of her car Friday evening.

But the weird thing is that they searched around the car Sat morning/afternoon and didnt see the keys in/around the car. So if the keys were dropped Fri night, then someone waited till at least the next day/night to take it.

^^^ sounds even more suspicious now that its someone who had knowledge of what was going on..and I know its family and all, but I've got a cousin who I trust, but don't trust any of his friends for one second with anything

yeah i know i loved my gsr. ha the original b17 in it too with only like 100,000 miles. the only good thing was i got 7,000 back from insurance because i had full comprehensive so they based what they paid me off the market value and the only two they could find to compare were 8,000 and 6,500 so in the end wasent too bad but still.

I dont think everyone is understanding.. there were NO friends there. JUST FAMILY. My wife + six of her cousins. Her cousin doesnt have any roommates (besides her fiance). They didnt meet up with any friends while out Fri night haha.

yea she drives my car. But it doesnt help that we both work and not close to each other. Her mom might let her barrow her car for a few days. Ive gotta talk to insurance about a rental too.

Update #1.

Wife got a call from SFPD tonight around 830 saying that the car has been recovered. CHP found it and it got brought back to a tow yard. The towing place is literally 2.9 miles from my wife's cousin appt!

Called the towing yard and its gunna be $505 to bail the car out. Now I have to call insurance bright and early and tell them the car was found. Need to see if I have to pay the 505 upfront or if the insurance will pay part of it upfront.

Still dont know the condition of the car tho, but from what we've heard, its in one piece haha

Im pretty sure they printed the car and what not. It would be awesome if they came back with a positive match. Make them pay for everything haha.
