are Gillette Mach 3 blades sooooo damn expensive? I was at the Target in Albany the other day, and forked over $12 for those damn things. It used to be $8. Had a damn good shave (nothing beats fresh blades and 5 days growth) but com'on man!

all blades are overly expensive because WE NEED THEM. They can charge whatever the hell they want. I mean electric razors are pointless for any true man and who is gonna use a strait razor?
I saw this blade sharpener on tv and am seriously considering getting one. Promises to make one blade last as long as like 20.

I just get the random free samples there are every so often, and use electric when it's not that important. I think I have like 3 or 4 gelette titaniums that are brand new, and still have an old mach 3.
I stopped using a razor most of the time, but I wanted to use one when I was just in Sweden. They had all these totally crazy razors there like the Mach5 or some crap with 5 blades on one side and 1 blade on the other for "tight places" or whatever it translated to be. Cost: 199:- (yes it's funny how the Swedish money symbol looks like a meat and two bits) which is around $30. For a single freaking razor. I forgot about the razor after spending well over $150 to fill up my father-in-law's Volvo.

One of my old co-workers swore by the Venus razor to shave his head. I used to ride him about it, but he was like "dude I used to use the M3, but the Venus is waaaaay better for a smoother shave."

You could try a head blade. They make them and they look like little race cars.
Otherwise a DE would work great, actually. I've NEVER had one get clogged. Mostly due to the fact that there is nada to clog.

If my hair thins out much more I may end up going shaved again at some point in the next 5-10.
I used to shave my head. I look very thuggish with no hair. Very.... ummm... norteno I guess. Weird that a german would look more like a mexican than a **** with his head shaved. haaaa. Hitler wouldn't have liked me much.
great thread! Has anyone ever tried one of those "Never Dulls" titanium blades "As Seen On TV?"
I used to use Mach III, but if you're not at Target/Wal-Mart those things are like $16-$20 a pack. I recently just started using some of the mid range price disposables. They don't feel as great, or last as long, but they are like $6 for a 4-pack and I get a passable close shave with them and not too much bleeding.
For further, are you guys using shave cream, or gel, or lotion? My face really dries out if I use the wrong stuff haha. Also, I shower after I shave and then put on Nivea for men sensitive skin oil free/alcohol free/unscented lotion lol.

shower and shave myself. I use that gillette gel. RIPS. Or similar. Or if I run out I steal my wife's vanilla foaming stuff. Makes my face silky smooth and smell like cake. mmmmm.
