But Mark you can actually push the tire, Kevin cannot yet. He's much better off money wise and learning wise to get a falken or rs2.

Also on my RE01Rs I ran them at about 30-34psi, I hardly rolled on the shoulders.

my alignment is:

Front Camber: -2.3
Rear Camber: -1.6
Front Castor: +4.75
Front Toe: 0
Rear Toe: 1/8" Toe Out (total)

I have nearly perfect tread wear across the tires. I rotated them, I try to drive smoothly (I don't toss the car into turns, i'm not a rally driver).

As much as it might sound like a putdown, it's really true and you will get SOOOO much more learning out of tires that are not as good as RE-01R's.

Seriously - cheaper/lower grade tires will be a win on every part, save money, learn more about car control, have more FUN not worrying about shredding your new awesome tires, etc. Develop your skills on crap tires, fine tune them and get fast on great tires...

Oh. No offense taken. I know what you guys mean. That was one of the thing that I am taking into consideration. I am taking into consideration things like cost, lifespan, and how it'll effect my ability to learn. Before you chimed in, the real selling point for me for the RE-01R's was the understanding that they wore out a little less quickly than the RE-01R's, and that buying these would be cheaper in the long run. Really just trying to be cost-effective. $5 or $600 is a lot of money, and I don't want to regret making a mistake.

Im also contemplating the RE01R and the RE050A PP. Ive had the RE050A (non PP) on my old wagon and was satisfied.

Anybody know which would be quieter, the RE01R or the 50A PP? Im not concerned with wear at all, I want grip and something civil, the stock RE070 on the STi was simply too harsh for my tastes.

Now that we got that out of the way, which would you go with?

RT-615 or RS2's?

Tires will be used for auto-x as well as driving around town. I don't usually drive my car that often when I am in Davis. Maybe a few times a week for groceries or to meet up people, and don't forget the trips between the bay and Fremont every few weeks.

Call Paul Diamond (Diamond Tire, San Rafael) I'll get you the number, He is awesome, quick and reliable. He'll match the tirerack price plus a buck or two, no shipping in most cases.

Tell him Jonathan with the 04 impreza sent you.

I appreciate the offer, but San Rafael is a drive for me, considering I am located in Fremont.

you might want to check these out as well, hearing good things about them, priced very similar to the RT615

Do you know anywhere that I can get them?

Edgeracing.com sells them for $111 each + $69 for shipping = $513
VulcanTires.com sells them for $115 each + $47 for shipping = $507

I found a vendor that sells the Hankook RS2's for $106 each + $42 for shipping = $466.

Hmm. I don't know much about the Dunlops. I'll take a look at the reviews and stuff.
