Post Where to buy Motul or Royal Purple Gear Oil?

i'm looking at getting 5 qts and was wondering where a good place in fremont was.
I've been looking at the motul and RP dealer listings and have come up empty handed.

Yes Vic hubbard has a great selection. They might not have exactly what you're looking for but they can order it for you.

Speaking of which, I just came from there.

They only had 4 qts

but at 6.25 each i decided to get them.

So right now I need 1 quart.

But my question is this, how much do i really need for my transmission?

Since everyone says they can't empty out all their fluid and end up putting too much in could i just put in the 3.2 quarts i'll have and not worry about it?

I'll check the dip stick later to add some but like in a month's time.
Or is that too long?

thanks again

Question

So are there any other stores in the area that might have it?

Hello,

I'm not 100% sure I'm remembering it right, but I think the Honda dealership on Steven's Creek has Royal Purple in the Parts Department. There's a big display of the stuff on the shelves there. Or at least, there was a couple years ago. I haven't been in about two years...

Hey Joel,

Is Gary sticking w/ the WRX for next season, or are we going to see an STI?

Uhh, actually, that's a pretty simple question to answer. Base weight = 13 x stock horsepower + 50 pounds for AWD. 13x300+50=3950.

Base weight of WRX = 227x13+50=3001.

Car weight, stripped down, but with a cage: 2600.

Cost of lead = $1 / pound.

So, do we want to spend $400 or $1350 on lead?

Since we have to stop and corner, too, it's safe to say that we're probably going to stick to less lead...

What body style we use and what stuff we upgrade is still for me to know and you to guess.

Joel
