my guess is your brake pad is moving a bit when switching from 1st -> Reverse and from Reverse -> 1st

if this is the case, it seems common on the new 08s and 09s

i searched on this issue using "clunk reverse front" and it was mentioned in many threads that the brake pad moving when going forward and reverse made a "clunk" noise

Most likely it's the brake pads shifting around in the calipers.
