when reversing........

when reversing........
when i reverse my car i hear this "thud" on my right panel. took it to the dealership and the service advisor said its normal. he said that its activating something in the car, i forgot what pacific word he said. This happens when every time i start my car and reverse. does anybody else has the same problem?
