what's a good set of tools?
Alot of people have recommended Craftsman. I'm in the market too, but have noticed that there many different Craftsman "labels".
They are all Craftsman but price varies, especially screwdrivers. Are they all the same? if not why, quality etc.

Great quality tools by the way. The tools he broke technically wore out.

I'll second Craftsman. If you're not using the tools in your trade, then there's really no need for the Snap-On stuff (unless you've got money pouring out your ears
) As far as wrenches go, get the Craftsman Professional series. They're much nicer ergonomically, and they're shiny
If you're not a Craftsman club member already, stop by your local Sears and fill out the application. They then send you a little catalog in the mail with special deals and what not. Also, keep your eye on the Sunday ads for other Sears/Craftsman deals. That's how I picked up most of my tools.

Sears.
I agree - unless you are gonna be wrenchin' for a living - there is no need to shell out the loot for the Snap-on stuff. Warranty is unbeatable.
