What's the best concert you've ever been to?
I know we all listen to our own type of music and that it's a diverse community, but regardless of how much we'll all disagree, what was the best concert that YOU'VE been to? The overall best live band + venue all combined.
I can't narrow it down to one show, but here's the best of the best:
(No particular order)
1. Rammstein @ The Edge in Palo Alto back in 1999 I think. Small show but sooooo powerful and epic! Great visuals and the crowd was great and made the show all that much better. The guys from Rammstein are friggin funny as hell and know how to give life to a concert!
2. Iron Maiden in Germany back in 1995 when I was 15 years old. It was a medium sized venue, jam packed with such great live performance along with the insane visuals and props that Maiden always has. The show was simply amazing. I think I had goosebumps through the entire show. This was before Bruce Dickenson left the band. They played a lot from Somewhere in time, and Powerslave which are my fav two albums. They opened up with Churchhill's speech and Aces High right after. The last song they played was the Rime Of The Ancient Mariner. F'ing EPIC show. Actually, this def takes the number 1 spot now that I think back on it... As good as the other shows I mentioned were, Maiden just stole the show from everyone.
3. Static-X . I know, they aren't on caliber with Maiden and Rammstein, but it was a very small venue at the Filmore about 6 years back. The music was great and Static-X is GREAT live... They sound really great when seen in person, but it wasn't the music that made the show as great as it was, it was the venue at the Filmore. The people there combined with the vibe and close knit nature of the venue made this an EPIC show. I didn't expect this concert to be as great as it was, but it really was amazing.
What about you guys?

Not sure but non of the bands listed above... haaaa.
I think I've had a lot of fun at smaller shows. I saw the Lonely Kings, Good Riddance and At The Drive-in at Pallookaville before it shut down and it was AMAZING.
Damn near killed myself at the Hank III show. I don't do many "big" shows.

For me I think probably either Jeff Beck at the Fox in Oakland this last April, Deep Purple at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland last year, or David Gilmore at the Paramount in '06.
Everybody I saw on Ozzfest in '99 was pretty awesome, the original Black Sabbath line-up ruled, but Rob Zombie's set was pretty f-in amazing too.
U-2 was pretty good on the Joshua Tree tour what was that about '87 or '88?, actually I have seen so many shows that its hard to pick an all time fave- but those were for sure among the best.

Reel Big Fish @ Sac State in Fall 2007.
Tiny venue, it was really just a large room with a temp stage and sound booth. Aaron Barrett got pissed at security because they wouldn't let his wife back stage, even though she had all the right passes, so he told the entire crown to come up on stage. Everyone just bum-rushed security and all got on stage! it was pretty awesome.
I would really like to go to Rock Am Ring some day. Huge three day rock festival in the middle of the Nurburgring. I saw some footage from previous years and it looks ****ing AWESOME!

All at the same concert. The Family Values Tour 2001 at the San Jose Arena. Awesome concert with sentimental value. My birthday and it was my fiance's first concert.
