Who wants an internship at Intel Corporation in Santa Clara site?
Looking for someone in the CE/CS major with minimum 3.0 GPA. Anywhere from 3-9 months working in the Santa Clara Intel site. Depending on the length of the internship. You may or may not get to do any software development. Have to run to another meeting right now. Please post if you are interested...

Alright... meeting cancelled...
Okay, this is for Itanium Commercial Validation. Your task would include but not limited to installing OS and applications, execute the applications, and report back the results. If the internship is longer than 3 month, development opportunities might be available depending on your skill set.
Area of focus would be firmware, power management and RAS (Google RAS and Itanium). Most likely you'll be reporting to a single senior software engineer.

well, if it's short term, you might be okay. but anything longer you would need to have some micro architecture skills/knowledge. you can't just come back and say, 'oh, it's not working'.
to setup the system and execute the application is a little more than you think. it's not like what you do at home. there are other debug equipments involve and these are servers, not desktop or mobile. AND they are not in production yet, which includes the OS and applications. Which means PROBLEMS!
CE/CS major requirement is really just a baisc filter. Folks in those majors usually have the right mind set this line of work.

it's a PAID internship! Back in 99 when I was an intern at Intel, I got paid ~$15 an hour, and I was a freshman. ~$5 + year after year... But things are different now... So I don't know what the pay rate is nowaday. HR would deal with you directly on that.
