That's what burns me so bad about the dealer breaking my WRX. My 04 wagon was my daily because it got better mileage than the STI but was still fun to drive.

Damn that is crazy. I just did the math and even at our insanely high prices that everyone is complaining about it comes out to $8.88 a gallon for 98RON. I mean yea that is insane but to think that it is close to that in CA is just.. Wow. Fuel price is around 2x what it was when I moved here in 2017.

Have been thinking about past Subies and how I don't really even know what I would have done w/ my WRX if I were still there. It was bad enough to get it through smog with changing the downpipe each time but from what I think I understand about today's rules it would not have made it through at all any longer and would require some pretty major work to get compliant. Wonder where it is these days. I sold it to a friend but he sold it and I've no idea where it ended up.

There's a dude with a white '00 WRX that goes rumbling by my place every once in a while and it always stops me in my tracks no matter what I am doing. Probably always will. Sadly I had a lot of trouble selling my BRZ last year and then diesel prices plus registration prices went nuts here as they try to force people to get rid of diesel cars so I "rage-bought" a 2018 Golf R Variant (wagon). 45th car and the first one I got for myself with only 2 pedals (Variant came only w/DSG). Still not sure I am used to it but admittedly its a fun and useful car. Did awesome in snow/ice even on backroads last year.

No, gas price in the UK averages around £2/litre now - regular slightly less/premium slightly more. So you take that in USD and it's $2.48 today, multiply times 3.785 and you have average of $9.38 a gallon. Can see some info on average UK prices here: https://www.rac.co.uk/drive/advice/fuel-watch/

I suppose that would have to be pounds, and I probably misunderstood his txt or it was a typo. I am not sure where he is at, but I think he said it worked out to $8.80 USD /gallon.

Yeah, nationally it dropped back below $5, but if they cap Russian oil prices per barrel, it will impact everyone and probably drive prices up.

Our local Costco appears to have dropped about .54 cents per gallon and sitting at $5.35
We just took a 5 day vacation to Cambria on the central coast. Most everything out there was right around $7 gal

Holy **** this is crazy! Visiting now and thankfully borrowing a Civic sedan. I mean every station is around $6 but I have been a bit stunned and then for the past few days on lockdown/isolation due to my first positive covid test wooo. Sort of changes everything whilst on "vacation" intended for kids to see family they have not seen in years but nothing we can do about that! Crazy times.
