Motul Oil Change!

Went to all the bolts, nuts, and v-bands and retightened my whole exhaust.

Zip tied down some loose wires

Tightened up my ALT/PS belt

We also wet sanded, and 2 stage polished my wing after we peeled a lot of the already peeling clear coat, looks much improved though.

Before

After

Protec filters are garbage and I don't think that is the right number for our cars

I've had an issue with a WIX before too, so nothing is perfect. Never had an issue with OEM so far.

Switched to Torco oil on this last change.

164 is for the Evo and mazda.

It's a longer filter than our stock size. It works perfectly though.

Gasket detachment which resulted in minor leaking and subsequently stuck to the block (yes, it was lubed). Haven't used them since, after using them for many years.

The shop i worked at used protec and they always leaked, gaskets came off all the time..I had a brand new one that the gasket came off when I went to lube it haha

Now I work for a place that sells protec and wix, we've been selling less protec filters. Customers are buying acdelco, wix or motorcraft...we have a cut up protec in the office and the Insides are so cheap and badly made. none of the employees use protec on their personal cars haha

Shops only use them because when bought in bulk they are like a $1 each so they can do cheap oil change specials

I use wix when I don't have oem

the last five or so oem filters I used didn't leak one drop over 5k mile interval
