I love the GTO, it's not a Pontiac, it's made in Australia by holden, and is basically a Corvette with 4 seats, 4 very luxurious leather Bucket seats. It handles pretty well too, and is nicely balanced in a drift. 6.0 litre LS1 engine, 400bhp stock and you can get them for around 30K...bargain.

yea they are discontinuing the GTO due to safety reasons. In order to make the GTO a safe car in the US pontiac has to jack up the price a lot higher IIRC, in order for them to not lose money.
i still say get an s2k. forget what people are saying about "ohh u get max power at this rpm and blah blah". who gives a crap. youre most likely gonna mod it anyways, and if you do go get the vortech supercharger or a turbo kit for it, and you wont have any problems anymore.

I must say s2000 is sexy especially when modified. Simple as lower suspensions and wider rims will look super-sexy on that roadster. As for power mod, get comtech supercharger along with their intercooler and exhaust systems. That would satisfy most of former wrx owners happy. Besides you will no longer have to worry about cops looking under your hood since it is all "CARB" legal! Man! Now, I really feel like selling my wrx....grrr

I'll have to wait till all the issues die down first. I've searched several cars from an RX-7 FD to other sporty cars within the 18-20k range. I'm thinking about just settling with an S2K because of the convertible appeal (say whatever you want, but its something nice for the summer and/or a road trip to LA!). All my other friends here in Berkeley pretty much tell me that 20k + ten more = EVO or STI. I really don't know yet what's gonna happen with the cash as I have some debts to pay off first.
And no Law, I'll hold off on your car. As pimped as it is, it just won't be the same. RE92s are the devil!

That's what my buddy with an FC told me. He said, "If you're willing to practically make love to your car every weekend, then get it."
I think I'll look for something with reliability. At this point, I might just get a bucket and get the M3 after I get settled with a career and get financially stable... But I think a bucket is the last thing on my mind right now.

Turbo FC? Since IIRC, the n/a FC is a great motor.

the FC's came in a turbo model. problem is tho, any turbo'ed wankel engine is not gonna last long...the n/a motor on the other hand will last a long time, but who would wanna buy a n/a rx7?
