I might look at buying my wife something new to drive that she wanted and take the 2.5RS that she currently drives. If I were getting a car for myself, I'm not sure what I'd look at. Probably an '06 WRX wagon, but maybe an '06 LGT (probably a sedan since you can't get 5spd on the 06 wagon) or maybe something else like a lightly used s4 avant.

IIRC, HP is what... torque X (engine speed/5252)? That's why all dynos will intersect at 5252 RPM. You agree with my statement by saying "Honda motors are high reving, and the max torque and HP is up around 6-7K RPM which does suck." Which just proved my point on why I didn't like the S2000.
Let's just say I've been tuned by Renick Motorsports, Gruppe-S, and Vishnu, and I know how the dynos look. Useable power is what you want, and the S2000 doesn't deliver that since as soon as you hit it, oh crap, gotta shift.
Yes I have been tuned. Hell, Moike deemed my car untuneable. Go look @ edmunds.com it'll tell you the peak HP is @ 4000, and peak torque @ 6000. Why would you want peak torque @ 6000? So, when you shift at redline (usually drops ~ 1000 RPM) you're back into your peak power right away.
Here's my old dyno, please realize it is hard to read since torque & HP are on different scales. Note that my peak HP is around 4k and my peak torque is around 6k. It does not appear @ redline.

Your horsepower is around 6K and the Torques is around 4K.
Peak Torque is made before Peak Horsepower usually

sorry about that Zoeb, I'm working on under 4 hours of sleep past 4 days...
Law, if that's the case, I think you can pull more power out, and shift the power band towards lower RPM...
