Went to the Dark Side
I also picked up a bimmer about a month ago, fortunately I was able to keep my subie. I only got a 325 ci though, but I love it. I didn't buy it for hp, (obviously) I just wanted something more comfortable to drive when I go out on a date or on a long drive. It's an 02 and it only had 53k.

As long as you listen to your car when it tells you to get the oil change, inspection I and Insection IIs be diligent about getting it done.

Congrats on the E30 vert!
I still think that E30 M3 is one of the best traditional sportscars even today. Love those bulletproof 2.3 engines.
No kidding, I've had alot of friends/relatives with Euro cars- Audi, Mercedes, BMW, Renault, Saab; they really can't be treated like Japanese imports when it comes to maintenance. What do you expect, they will break down when you don't religiously maintain it. Get a Toyota if you want it to run forever
I still can't get over my uncle's Renaults in the Philippines; ran up to 250km with religious basic maintenance. Pretty much only died in car accidents.
then again driving in the asia region is a whole different ball game but I won't go there
